| Electromagnetic Multiple-disc clutches E1TM |
E1TM clutches are designed for remote automatic control of machine tools and other machinery drives. They find wide use in automatic gear boxes, feed boxes, feed drives and also in starting devices. They ensure rapid starting of drives under load, low losses at idling what affects favourably the heat balance of machine, protects drives against pulse overload and if selected and assembled correctly - long service life and reliability. We produce Electromagnetic Multiple-disc clutches/brakes of 4 types and 10 sizes: clutches with slipring, clutches without slipring, clutches without slipring with bearings, brakes.

| Installation and Operation |
To provide satisfactory operation of the clutches/brakes:
1. Clean and wash the clutch/brake carefully before starting the installation procedure.
2. Mount the clutch/brake on the shaft so that it is alligned with the part carrying the driver. The maximum runout of the shaft end where the couple/brake is to be mounted should not be greater than 0.02 mm. The maximum runout of surfaces A and B where the driver is to be mounted should not be greater than 0.03 to 0.05 mm according the clutch/brake size.
3. The clutch driver should be fixed to a driving or driven part by means of studs and screws protected against falling out during operation /the brake driver should be secured by means of screws to the fixed body part/.
4. Mount the clutch/brake barrel so as to prevent its axial movement.
5. Mount the brush holder. Use two brush holders for the E1TM 142 clutches. The spare brushes and the brush holder are standard accessories for the E1TM…2 clutches.

Power Requirements:
The clutches and brakes are designed for 24 V DC operation. The spicification tables list the load/power consumption/ratings of individual clutch and brake coils. This value is also shown on the product itself. The following equipment can be used as a power supply for a clutch or brake: Selenium rectifier, Vacuum tube rectifier or appropriate output, Converter, or Accumulator.

Lubrication:
The purpose of clutch and brake lubrication is to decrease the wear of parts, and to cool the parts by removing the generated heat. The clutches and brakes are to be lubricated with mineral oil of 1.7 to 3.0° E at 50° C viscosity. The oil selection depends on the peripheral speed of the clutch/brake. The recommended oil viscosities are as follows: 1.7 to 2.4° E at 50° C for peripheral speeds below 5 m/s or above 12 m/s, and 2.5 to 3.0° E at 50° C for peripheral speeds between 5 m/s and 12 m/s. The peripheral speed is understood as being the speed at the outside diameter of the clutch/brake. Suggested lubrication techniques are: internal lubrication /via hollow shaft/, or spray lubrication. The spray lubrication technique should be used only in situations where the clutch/brake speed is not greater than a half of the maximum relative angular velocity. Sometimes it is possible to lubricate the clutches/brakes by bathing them in oil up to depth of 1/6 outside diameter.
